Sir Andrew, Sir Toby's best friend, is rich, and not very smart. He tries to courtOlivia and thinks that he is humorous, brave, young, and good at dancing. He is really not smart at all and cannot do any of the things that he thinks he can do. He likes fencing, dancing, and bear-baiting. Sir Andrew comes off as conceited. He is going to make a fake love letter to Malvolio to get back at him since they are not friends. Him and Sir Toby are in on the letter that Maria is writing. Sir Andrew and Malvolio are enemies to each other. Sir Andrew is in Illrya because he wants to marry Olivia and is getting Sir Toby to help him. Sir Andrew loves Olivia, But Olivia does not like him. Sir Andrew wants to fight Cesario/Viola to win over Olivia's heart. Sir Andrew writes a letter to Cesario to challenge him to a duel but Sir Toby and Fabian change the letter that he wrote to scare Sir Andrew and make him believe that Sir Andrew is a scrawny assassin. He is not that strong or intimidating, and he is cowardly. He tries very hard to impress people a lot, but he is stupid. Like promised, Sir Andrew, in Act 4, scene II, runs up to and punches Sebastian, thinking he was Cesario. Then Sebastian preceded in beating Sir Andrew up.
